CINCINNATI (FOX19) – The Kroger Co. is joining the list that is growing of offering CBD products.
The Cincinnati-based food store string will start offering topical items like creams, balms, natural oils and creams in 17 states, The Detroit Information reports.
Kentucky and Indiana are listed among the list of 17 states where Kroger will actually sell it is new CBD items, Kroger’s Louisville Division Corporate Affairs Manager and Media Spokesperson Erin Grant confirmed.
“Like many stores, our company is offering our clients a highly-curated collection of topical items like lotions, balms, natural oils and ointments which can be infused with hemp-derived CBD,” Erin Rolfes with Kroger’s Cincinnati unit stated. If you are a heavy smoker and have large body mass, you’re meant to drink two bottles of this stuff. For me, the 16 fluid ounce and 20 fluid ounce versions are virtually useless unless you are tiny, or just smoke a couple of times per week. For me, Amazon is going to be far more honest than the company’s own website. So I just don’t trust these guys. A range of very similar products, the claim of five times the strength, and so many positive reviews on their website, which aren’t matched by positive reviews on other websites, none of it really adds up, and it smells quite a bit. “CBD is a naturally-occurring and compound that is non-intoxicating has promising advantages and it is allowed within federal and state laws. Our selection that is limited of CBD topical items is from manufacturers which have been evaluated for quality and safety. “
The U.S. Agricultural Department regulates industrial hemp manufacturing, however the Food and Drug management nevertheless will not recognize CBD as a ‘safe’ ingredient, the Detroit Information states.

In Kentucky, hemp derived CBD items are appropriate, the Kentucky Department of Agriculture states, but growing, managing, or processing hemp plants, viable seeds, leaf or flowery materials without having a hemp permit is unlawful.
Kentucky legislation states:
“It is unlawful for someone who will not hold a permit granted because of the department, or that is perhaps not a representative of a licensee, to develop, manage, procedure, or market living commercial hemp flowers or viable seeds, leaf materials, or flowery materials produced from commercial hemp. Charges for people whom cultivate, handle, procedure, or market living commercial hemp flowers or viable seeds, leaf materials, or flowery materials produced by commercial hemp with no permit are exactly the same as those charges which are relevant to persons whom violate KRS Chapter 218A, associated with marijuana.”
Eric Halvorson with Kroger’s Central Division in Indianapolis states 89 Kroger shops in Indiana will quickly provide a selection that is limited of CBD items.
He also says these products is likely to be available through Ship.Kroger.com and Vitacost.com.
The Detroit News claims their Michigan division clarified that Kroger’s offerings could have no THC content, which produces the cannabis high.
They state costs will consist of $3.99 to $59.99 and manufacturers have not been offered.
